When does the Spring league start?
Our season generally runs from the first weekend in March through the beginning of June.
We practice on Tuesday and Thursday nights at Keith Middle School in New Bedford, MA.
As part of the Massachusetts Youth Lacrosse (MYL), we play teams throughout Southeastern Massachusetts. All games are played on Sundays. Home games will be played at Keith Middle School. Away games will require travel.
What is a Recreational League?
The focus of recreational lacrosse, at all age levels, is to help new players learn the game and begin to develop basic skills as well as to help experienced players continue to develop their skills in preparation of moving to the next level. There is a strong emphasis at all levels on skill development, sportsmanship and having fun. Most importantly it means that all players play.
What equipment does my player need to play?
All girls are required to have the following equipment for all age groups: a lacrosse stick, a face mask that covers the eyes and nose, a mouthguard, and cleats (molded rubber). The club will provide equipment for goalies to use during the season.
Follow this link to the US Lacrosse Equipment Fitting Guide. This is useful for new first time players and parents with suggestions for purchasing equipment.
What are the rules?
US Lacrosse has published videos of age-specific interpretations of the youth rules here.
